Real frames off Ben’s camera card, from the north shore stretch we walk and work all the time — Kīlauea coast, Kalihiwai pastures, the water off Anini through the ironwoods. No staging, no stock. Curated down from over five hundred shots to the ones worth keeping: blur, bad exposure, and burst duplicates dropped, the rest brought up to a clean web edit.
The story behind these frames isn’t new. It started in Peru, in the Sacred Valley outside Cusco, during a hard year when travel stopped and a small art coalition needed somewhere to be — a frustrating WordPress build, a handful of people trying to sell art and teach classes online. Somewhere in that mess the idea took root: build something interconnected, build it offline-first, creative in the woods. That idea followed us home to Kauaʻi’s north shore, and it’s still the same idea today.
Two edits below: a six-minute trail reel set to music, and a longer story-mode cut with real narration pulled from the same journal notes and dispatches that run this place — tide checks, buoy reports, community garden plots going in, a private boat tour approved for the North Shore. Both carry the KDV mark; both are straight off the same machines that run the village.
