Share Your Moʻolelo
Every person who has walked the trail, lived near the valley, or felt called by the Nā Pali coast carries a story worth preserving.
This is not a comment section. It is a place to offer what you remember, what you witnessed, what was passed down to you.
With every story shared, each step forward is a memory reawakened.
📝 How to Submit
Send your moʻolelo to aloha@kalalauguardians.org with:
- Your name (or a name you want used — we respect anonymity)
- Your connection to Kalalau — how did you come to know this place?
- The story — in your own words, however long or short it needs to be
- Photos (optional) — if you have images you’re willing to share
We read everything. We respond. Stories that are ready will be published in the Moʻolelo Library with your permission.
🌺 What We’re Looking For
- Personal experiences on the Kalalau Trail or in the valley
- Family stories and oral history connected to Kauaʻi or Nā Pali
- Traditional knowledge: plants, fishing, farming, navigation
- Wildlife observations: birds, marine life, native species
- Conservation experiences: what you’ve seen change, what’s been lost, what’s been found
- Trail safety wisdom — things you know that visitors need to hear
🗣 The Valley Listens
No story is too small. The valley is made of layers — and each layer was once someone’s ordinary day.
“The valley doesn’t forget those who walk gently.”
